Casuelita's Caribbean Cafe Description:
Dinner at Casuelita's will transport you to the tropics. The cozy restaurant is saturated in warm colors and the interior feels toasty no matter the outside temperature. For something more tame than the crowded bar, check out the slightly more sedate upstairs. Friendly servers will recommend any of the cocktails made with some 40 rums available; try the kicker mojito, or the Bushwhacker, a seductive combo of dark and coconut rum mixed with chocolate liqueur, Kahlúa, Baileys and nutmeg. The menu spans all manner of Caribbean cuisine from curried goat to Puerto Rican crispy salt cod fritters dipped in avocado salsa. There's also Jamaican jerk chicken and Brazilian vatapa (snapper and yucca simmered in a sweet and spicy coconut curry). Take the tropical glow with you when you venture back out into rainy Seattle.
