Black Bottle Description:
Black Bottle is a casual tavern committed to good eating and great drinks, offered at fair prices. Every dish is made fresh-to-order in sharable portions. We have a full bar and hard-working wines, priced to sell. The atmosphere is convivial and uncluttered; a modern design in a century old building. Our service standard is efficient and informal. Come with a largish group or for an intimate evening for two. Cheers!
A contemporary feel and cool vibe play against the historic Belltown setting of this self-described "gastro-tavern." An uncluttered, sparse room with single light bulbs dangling from the tall ceiling warms up as patrons crowd around the bar or congregate at tables. The menu of internationally-inspired plates includes "links and rocket," combining three generous sausages---chorizo, chicken and tomato, and traditional hot Italian---served with coarse mustard and a small arugula salad. Flatbread dishes, each served in a long rectangular pastry pan, are topped with inventive combinations such as smoked chicken and cherries, or more traditional pairings such as prosciutto with béchamel sauce. A cracked olive salad, spiked with feta and herbs and accompanied by charcuterie selections, is a spicy delight with a glass of Oregon Pinot. The wine list emphasizes the Northwest but acknowledges other regions as well. There's also a first-rate selection of beer and cocktails.
