Modeled on an Italian enoteca, this low-key, contemporary wine bar might be the last thing you'd expect from the siblings behind the lavish Persian establishment that is Lala Rokh. But Babak Bina and Azita Bina-Seibel indeed intend to defy expectations here. If the Beacon Hill space is rather more posh than an enoteca vera, it's certainly cozy for Charles Street---indeed, it's as small and intimate as its menu, which just keeps getting more admirably precise. Fine salumi and formaggi are no-brainers; other wine-friendly, elegantly simple nibbles range from wild mushroom-Fontina bruschetta to spot-on carpaccio. If slightly heartier entrées are in order, the signature cocoa tagliatelle with porcini ragù is a must. The wine list, meanwhile, is properly expansive, with well over 100 bottles and dozens by the glass; though it's a wittily compiled, info-dense document, the generally savvy servers can answer any remaining questions.
