This charmingly rustic restaurant with concrete floors and a faux tree "planted" smack in the middle of the dining room serves modern comfort food designed more for hungry lumberjacks than slim tree huggers. Stick-to-your-ribs choices we've relished include the mac 'n' cheese, a pulled pork sloppy Joe, fried oysters with lemon sauce, corn fritters and apple pie à la mode. During Austin's cooler months, the huge, tender grilled Berkshire porterhouse pork chop with mashed potatoes or the homemade meatloaf with seasonal vegetables are good for insulating yourself against the chill. One may also consider the stuffed tomato with orzo or the delightful fennel, arugula, cranberry and goat cheese salad.
