Buzzing like a beehive, this offspring of Vespaio reminds us of the small, charming cafés in Italy. Order the vibrant antipasti on display, traditional thin-crust pizzas or pastas, and you can't go wrong. Even the fluffy meatball sandwich, served on soft, yeasty bread is terrific. For variety, try the pressed panini---affordable and substantial---served with fries that are sprinkled with cheese and parsley. Sunday brunch also impresses, featuring warm brioche, eggs Florentine, and crespelle (Italian crêpes). One crêpe dish is layered with prosciutto and spinach, then crowned with a creamy mushroom sauce. Salads are large enough to split; we'll gladly return for the spinach or Caesar. The berry crostada with sugared lattice crust or the espresso éclair will keep you light on your toes on the way out the door. The well-crafted wine list includes Italian and French options.
