Jake's Ready To Eat Description:
Jake's owners originally envisioned their place as a gourmet take-out store, but quickly realized they could do a good trade by also providing attractive seating in which to enjoy the food. They created a pretty little eating area and bar in the small courtyard and transformed the even smaller front section of the store into a rather elegant lounge with tables and a view of the mountains. The result is a thriving restaurant/take-out place that combines casual ease, efficiency, a charming setting and very good food. Now, locals drop in for tasty salads and sandwiches at lunchtime (try the beet and arugula salad with goat cheese, walnuts and avocado, or the chicken curry wrap in a spinach tortilla) as well as constantly changing specials. For dinner, the crab cakes, meatloaf and four-cheese macaroni and cheese all go fast when they are on the menu. The baby-back ribs with a pineapple teriyaki glaze are a good way to start the meal, while the ahi two ways is a deservedly popular entrée. Tailored menus are also provided for special occasions. The indoor space can be reserved for private parties.
