Austin's Steakhouse Description:
With its glassed-in wine rack at the entrance, massive ceilings, and open kitchen and plush booths and chairs in a hotel-casino called Texas Station, the atmosphere doesn't get much more authentic than this. Since Austin, Texas is renowned for its great steakhouses, this reincarnation offers an impressive selection of steaks, as well as seafood including lobster tail. For starters, we like the grilled, herb-marinated lobster tail and fried Japanese peppers. Lobster bisque and onion soup gratinée are favorites. Rubbed with a blend of seasonings and prepared over mesquite charcoal, the USDA Prime, 48-day dry-aged, hand-cut steaks include bone-in New York, T-bone and filet mignon, plus a pan-seared rib-eye and filet au poivre. The rotisserie chicken and sustainable seafood selections are winners. For dessert, try the banana nut bread pudding with Kahlúa chocolate sauce. A pianist-singer entertains on weekends.
