With its snug streamlined room and fresh food made to-order, Yum Yum Cha is delightfully different from the popular large-scale dim sum eateries. When in a leisurely mood, we like to start with a freshly brewed pot of golden chrysanthemum tea. But if you are famished, don't expect to wait for your food, which is just minutes out of the steamer or deep-fryer. Don't miss the moist steamed buns called bao with chicken and ginger filling, or the turnip cake, lo bok go, accented with bits of pork. Yum Yum's rice roll---a big, warm noodle stuffed with shrimp or ground beef fillings and anise flavoring---is a substantial favorite. Steamed bright-jade Chinese broccoli is also a thing of beauty here. With only nine tables in the moss-green dining room, arrive at a slightly off time in order to secure a table.
