Miss Saigon Cafe Description:
This hip, quiet restaurant in the Rice Village features a serene mural and an overall softer look than the Formica and florescent glare of many Vietnamese restaurants. The scenes on the walls depict a delightful village scene and lacy curtains keep out the sun. The food is a savory blend of fresh traditional ingredients prepared with a French flair. However, atmosphere and perfectly prepared pho, vermicelli and rolls don't come cheap. Sticker shock may alarm first-time diners, but the food justifies twenty-dollar lunch tabs. But we think it's worth the price. The grilled pork, chicken, beef and shrimp are all served sizzling and everything is fresh and meticulously presented. House specialties include a rich gumbo and a decadent caramelized salmon entrée served over noodles. Don't leave without a Vietnamese iced coffee---tar-thick coffee with sweetened condensed milk over ice.
