Java Monkey Description:
Students from nearby universities lounge on worn upholstered seating or sit at the bar with their laptops plugged into a power strip. Deep conversations run from politics to arguments about the nature of jazz at the wine bar, while in another space jazz, bluegrass or poetry readings keep a small crowd enthralled. Breakfast features house-baked treats, while lunch and dinner take sustenance from a list of panini and other sandwiches. We suggest the chocolate chip muffin. Coffees are organic, shade-grown, fair traded beans, while teas, smoothies and sundry other drinks make up the libations list, along with a decent wine selection. Owner Jessica Williams has her eyes firmly on the ball and runs a tight ship with quality that never wavers.
