Fadó Irish Pub Description:
Fado (pronounced f'doe) is an Irish expression meaning "long ago."
Fado blends the old with the new to evoke the image of the great old pubs of Ireland, but their style of music, food and beverages connects more with the contemporary pubs of today's Ireland.
Fado's signature dish is the boxty, a potato pancake stuffed with a filling and rolled. The chef offers four versions of the dish: grilled vegetable, barbecue chicken, shrimp and Andouille sausage, seafood and steak and portobello mushroom.
The Irish breakfast - two eggs, Irish sausages, rashers, black and white pudding, backed beans and brown bread - is available all day.
You don't have to be Irish and you don't have to drink stout to fall in love with this Chinatown Irish pub. The floors are rough-hewn stone befitting a medieval castle, and the wooden tables and benches are reminiscent of a farmer's cottage. It can be so busy at lunchtime that reservations are in order. For a truly Irish repast, consider the signature dish, the boxty, a potato pancake stuffed and rolled with a filling. The chef has created three versions of the dish: corned beef; chicken and shrimp; and Gaelic steak. All day you can order the Irish breakfast: two eggs, Irish sausages, rashers, black-and-white puddings, mushrooms and homemade brown bread. Desserts include brown bread ice cream and a harvest bread pudding. The main draw here is the wooden bar with its convivial crowds.
