Set on a cobblestone street in Cleveland's Ohio City neighborhood, Market Avenue Wine Bar is an intimate, relaxing boîte. While the space may be small, this charming little wine bar offers one heck of a big wine list with 70 options by the glass and 700 by the bottle. Hungry oenophiles will want to nosh on the approachable selection of well-made hors d'oeuvres. Start with the tapenade platter, or perhaps cold-smoked Alaskan salmon, which is thinly sliced and served with tangy capers, sweet red onions and water crackers. The menu highlight, though, is the baked almond Brie. The soft, creamy cheese is topped with almonds and baked in a puff-pastry shell. Accompanied by a warm baguette and a generous arrangement of fresh fruit, it's the perfect counterpoint to a spicy glass of Shiraz.
