R.J. and Jerrod Melman---sons of mega-restaurateur Rich Melman (Lettuce Entertain You)---strut their stuff, and work the room, at their own baby, a stylish River North restaurant. Soaring, exposed ceilings and an open floor plan give the place loft appeal; flat-screens, a DJ booth and comfy bar area give the young and young-at-heart crowd a reason to stay. Service runs like a finely tuned vehicle, and there are so many good-sounding menu options, it's hard to choose. From soft tacos and maki to roasted chicken, rib-eye and short ribs, there's a meal for all tastes. We especially like snacking on the chile-braised, pulled chicken nachos and crisp baked potato debris, a concoction laced with sage, rosemary and romesco sauce. Be sure to buff up on (or at least chuckle about) the cheeky house rules.
