Let's be honest: most of what restaurateur Jerry Kleiner touches turns to gold. If it doesn't, he quickly makes a clean break. Enter Old Town's 33 Club, which offers up bar bites and modernized American dishes everyone wants to get with. We're suckers for deviled eggs, and the familiar version here staves off cravings. Likewise the tuna tartare, which gets a burst of flavor from grapefruit and basil aïoli. Nothing on the menu goes out on a limb, but that's not to diminish the fact that sampling a moist, pickled onion-topped whitefish hoagie under the soaring ceiling---and amid clubby, art-adorned and louder-than-loud surroundings---is anything but enjoyable. While most of the menu is quite affordable, a reserve steak list delivers a special occasion indulgence. A large, well-picked wine list completes the neatly wrapped package.
