Taking over from an establishment that combined Cuban and German cuisines, Portobello's is primarily Italian but offers a smattering of Greek dishes as well. The place has been attractively decorated, with rich wood accents providing a casual, clubby feel. Diners begin with an intriguing portobello fritti with ricotta and tomatoes or caprese salad---or even spanakopita. Pastas include shrimp and crab ravioli in a crab-pomodoro sauce and a satisfying old-fashioned spaghetti and meatballs, while main courses feature scampi, spicy beef straccetti, and a nicely prepared veal piccata, unless a Greek souvlaki tears you away from the Italian specialties.
