Basil Thai is located in the heart of Paso Robles adjacent to the downtown park. This mid-sized Thai restaurant is a popular choice for moderately priced Thai food. Basil Thai can be busy and reservations aren't accepted. Dress is casual, prices are moderate.
Basil Thai's extensive menu ably covers all the classics like tom kha kai soup, pad thai noodles and param curry. But it also invites you to try some creations that most Thai restaurants in the area don't offer, such as gai-yang (grilled chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce), geang subparod (red curry with your choice of either prawns or the roasted duck that we prefer with the dish's pineapple component), or prik khing pla (a seafood spin on the typical green bean dish).
