Casa Vega Description:
This Valley favorite---beloved by loyal neighborhood regulars, a few celebrities and folks looking for a bargain---has been around since 1958 and founder Rafael Ray Vega and family still operate the joint. One of the darkest places around---so dark you can hardly make out the images on the original bull-fighting paintings---it has always been regarded as a safe place to meet somebody you shouldn't be with in the first place. The margaritas are big and strong, but of dubious quality. The modestly priced menu offers all the usual suspects of Americanized Mexican food: quesadillas, taquitos, chicken enchiladas, chile rellenos and big burritos. Reservations are not accepted, and there can be a long wait on weekends.
