Ole Tapas Bar Description:
Despite its name, some elaborate bullfighting murals decorating the lounge area, and a Spanish-born chef in the kitchen, Olé! may disappoint those looking to relive a Madrid moment with authentic Spanish tapas. Classic simple delicacies such as genuine Spanish chorizo, Cabrales cheese with membrillo, croquetas de jamón or marinated anchovies are in scarce supply here. The menu does offer small plates of Spanish-inspired dishes, but they lack the robust flavors one expects to find at a real tapas bar. The room, sheathed in dark red with lots of candles piercing the darkness, may not be rustic but it is certainly sexy and sophisticated. Tapas that are on offer include fried goat cheese with honey, sautéed mushrooms and artichokes in onion sauce, and fried calamari with chile-garlic sauce, while entrées feature filet a la pimienta, paella, and salmon a la parilla.
