Staying the course in the North End is no easy task, but this Sicilian-owned kitchen has managed the trick for many years in its infamously tiny space on Hanover Street. The line snakes around the block, and for good reason. Besides your basic linguine and clams, it specializes in admirably fresh Sicilian-style seafood such as monkfish Marsala and littlenecks in brodo; the blackboard menu lists piatti di giorno. Meanwhile, the fried calamari---so crispy and ocean-sweet, nipped with lemon, dabbed with olive oil---has a rightful claim to being some of the best in Boston. The wine comes in plastic cups, the hostess breaks out in intermittent song, and the all-around warmth is undeniable.
