The 'hood's gregarious regulars are always here. So are throngs of tourists, students and couples reluctantly winding up a first date. Caffè Vittoria is everything a North End coffeehouse should be---a combination of kitsch, romance and intriguing history (its downstairs cigar bar, Stanza dei Sigari, was a Prohibition-era speakeasy). While the coffee and pastries are neither here nor there---fine, but nothing special---you can't go wrong with an apéritif or two while catching the soccer game on TV.
