Habit Description:
Smoke from the Habit's charbroiler wafts through downtown Ventura, beckoning the lunch crowd---and a crowd is just what you'll find most days. School kids swarm the small restaurant, lining up to order at the counter alongside surfers, blue collar workers and the suit-and-tie set. Though burgers are the eatery's claim to fame, healthier alternatives such as fish sandwiches---made with hand-cut and filleted tuna steaks---and crisp salads are available. The simple menu sticks to a time-honored formula that began some 40 years ago in neighboring Santa Barbara.
