he best word to describe them is what I stated in the title. Considering that they have only been open a little over a month they already have their act together.
Our waitress was very friendly, always had a smile & came by often to ask me if I needed another drink to which I eagerly obliged. She couldn't recommend any specific dishes for me though as she said the menu is way too diverse, and she had not yet tried enough things. One personal note, I actually do not like menus that have too many offerings... give me a menu that has the chef's top 10-15 items, not 100. Anyways, that's what happens in Chinese, and mixed Asian cuisine... lot's of things!
The restaurant was contemporary but nothing that really stood out. They had a separate bar and a sushi bar, also an upstairs that I didn't get a chance to check out.
The food was good, not great, but for the range of food they served they did a commendable job. Looks like they couldn't focus to make any 1 type of food to be 'excellent'. Most of the dishes I ordered were what I expected. The won ton soup was ok, and the sesame beef was great (what deep fried, breaded thing isn't, right?). The szechuaun shrimp were not the best as the sauce tasted a little ketchuppy. I really liked the drink menu.
Ig it were a choice between here and (say) The Red Door on Granville, I would choose this for proximity and Red Door for more specialized dishes (the only have about 25).
