Walking along Denman street after a day at the beach made my mate and I a little hungry so we were looking for a place that wasn't too expensive or dressy and this brought us to the Central Bistro. The place is fairly comfortable, slightly crowded, which was to be expected being mid summer and dinner time. We were seated on the patio upon request and were served fairly promptly. We ordered some appetizers of pita, spicy fries and some dip, which was only mayo and ketchup - nothing special. The entrees were the best part of the meal. I ordered the tenderloin with scallop gratin which was awesome and my friend ordered the salmon with horse radish crust - he said it was a little on the bland side but overall quite good. The room also has a fireplace which would be very nice during the winter, so I do plan on coming back for that experience.
