I've always wanted to try out this Singapore restaurant. I've heard good words about it. They have franchises everywhere, including Taiwan! So I had the liberty taking my girl there last night for dinner. The layout of the restaurant makes you feel comfortable right away. The first thing I noticed about the restaurant is that it's operated by not only Asians, but by different ethnic groups. You have Asian, Caucasian, African-American, Latin, etc. They all work together. I guess they want customers to feel comfortable and emphasize the diverse ethnicity in Singapore. Anyways, moving on to the food. As starters, we had 6 skewers of Chicken Satay for $7.50, and the Roti Prata costing $4.00. Chicken Satay is basically BBQ chicken and you dip in their peanut-butter like sauce. Since it's BBQ chicken, it might be a little bit greasy. So, they accompany the dish with sliced fresh oniions. As for Roti Prata, it's hard to know what it is without a picture! It's basically ovened croissant served with red curry sauce. At first, I thought it might be weird because usually you have croissant with butter. You would not link croissant and red curry together. After the first bites, we fell in love with it! They have done a good job introducing the Eastern and Western hand-in-hand. Who says curry can only go with rice?! My girl ended up having the Roti Prata all to herself without sharing the dish. After finishing the starters, we were pretty much bloated, but we were also eager to try our main dishes with great excitement because if starters had been a delight, the main dishes should top that experience! Our main dishes are the Beef Rendang with Coconut Rice, and Hainanese Chicken with Chicken Rice. Beef Rendang is basically curry beef. Hainanese Chicken is steamed chicken with gingner, soy sauce, basils, and red onion. It's perhaps the most famous dish from Singapore. There are many variations to this dish. Anyways, the Beef Rendang is not an ordinary curry dish. It doesn't look like a curry dish actually. It's more like a stewed one. However, it really is curry beef! It's a little bit on the sweet side though. The Hainanese Chcken is refreshing. Since it's steamed, it's not greasy at all. The inclusion of ginger really brings out the flavor of the chicken. I know ginger is not one of the favorites in America, but it sure is huge in the Oriental community. The chicken broth that came with the dish should not be taken just as an ornament and have it wasted. It's part of the dish! Every scoop of rice should be showered witha bit of the broth. It's so tasty. Besides, all the nutrients is in the broth so it's good for you! Because we were so stuffed, we had no chance to try out the deserts and felt the dinner was incomplete. However, there's always next time on this restaurant. We will visit often now. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

I don't know why but I have gone back to Prima Taste 3 times for lunch in the past 2 weeks. Each time I ordered the chicken stays and a half eggplant/half green beans, and I am truly satisfied. If you want less expensive, value oriented, Singapore cuisine, this is the place to try.

Never had Singapore before, but will repeat at this place. Started with chicken satays that came with an AMAZING peanut sauce. For my main, I limited to 2 vegetable choices, ordering a half of each, Eggplant in garlic sauce and Green Beans. both great choices. My lunch companion had a jambalaya looking shrimp dish that he said was superb. Excellent mean, good value, nice, clean place!
