Matador Description:
Offering an adult edge and ambience more akin to a lounge than a restaurant, this is where to find reliable Mexican standards plus dishes taken a step further with deluxe ingredients and peppery spices. Enjoy a bowl of chunky chili or be more adventurous with bacon-wrapped jalapeños stuffed with goat cheese. Although a delightful mahi mahi and habanero prawns are usually on the menu, we head straight for the meat. The carne asada is first-rate, moist and tender, paired with sautéed corn and leeks as well as garlic mashers. Carnitas, a dish of pork chunks served in a sauce hinting of cinnamon and orange, and baby-back ribs are other delights. Don't miss the molten chocolate cake with its silky texture supported by vanilla bean ice cream and a rum-caramel sauce.
