Maple Leaf Grill Description:
A combination of thrift shop chic with overtones of kitsch, the dining room walls---painted chiffon yellow and pumpkin orange with apple green accents---are adorned with eccentric artwork and classic rock 'n' roll photographs. An eclectic "global" menu provides an extensive selection of salads, sandwiches and entrées. Blackboard specials change every few days and include soups, appetizers, entrées and desserts. Offerings may include butternut squash soup, a trio of grilled lamb chops, and grilled New York steak with shiitake mushroom-balsamic jus, yam mashers and braised greens. Fish fans will enjoy seared coriander and sesame encrusted ahi with ponzu, jasmine rice and braised greens. Selections from the regular menu include a first-rate burger and a signature "Mars Oyster Stew."
