Whether you want take-out or a table, expect to wait at peak hours. Fu and her son David, who runs the front of the house, hail from Shantung province where wheat is more prominent than rice, and their menu also features Szechuan, Hunan and Cantonese specialties. Other must-have dishes include doughy, pork-stuffed wheat buns called baozi, delicate crêpes for wrapping moo shu stir-fries, crispy glazed eggplant in a sauce that packs both sweet and heat, and tea-smoked duck. Folks addicted to Fu's flavors can purchase bottled versions of her hot oil, peanut, and pot sticker sauces to enjoy at home.
