Kappo Sui Description:
Orange County's best Japanese pub doesn't serve much in the way of sushi. Instead the specialty here is kappo, little dishes created to complement beer and saké. Master chef-owner Shirai-san keeps a small English menu around for greenhorns, but the best dishes---including incomparable miso-marinated filet mignon and terrific steamed dumplings stuffed with minced shrimp---are scribbled in Japanese on a blackboard. You'll find a fine selection of boutique sakés and Japanese beer to mute the noise---which is considerable when the place teems with Japanese businessmen in a celebratory mood.
