Coco 500 Description:
French bistro Bizou kissed its ten-year-old look goodbye when chef-owner Loretta Keller reinvigorated the South Park space with a glossy remodel, a small plates menu and a cutesy name. Sleek teak paneling, illuminated art and clean lines are a valentine to modern design. The crowd is made up of Bizou loyalists and the out-on-the-town set, both of whom are beckoned by an impressive cocktail list. The menu winks at some of Keller's signature morsels, such as crisp tempura-fried green beans and a silky duck liver terrine. Tastes such as a mushroom-and-roasted-onion pizza dominated by Gorgonzola, lifeless English pea ravioli and beef cheek mole are hit-and-miss. But with an expansive menu of small plates in a lively atmosphere, the variety and ambience will please every purse and palate.
