Big Nate's Barbeque Description:
It might be easy to drive right past this place, despite the big, bold lettering spelling out Big Nate's on the side of the building, but we wouldn't recommend it. In a town with too few barbecue joints, Big Nate's is one of the best. Inside, two huge brick ovens-smokers house the tender brisket and the faintly smoky chicken. A long, unenthusiastically drab counter begins the ordering process at the door and runs the length of the narrow space. Two or three cafeteria-style tables are relegated to the back corner since this is mostly a take-out business. Most Big Nate's fans can't pass up the Memphis pulled pork sandwich, with its tender cubes of pork swimming in a thick, vinegary sauce (that can be ordered from mild to spicy, as with all the sauces) that gets ladled into a soft, sesame seed bun. Dinners like the dense links and the delicious pork ribs come with a nice, lightly dressed coleslaw or potato salad.
