Chez Papa Bistrot Description:
This corner of Potrero Hill is bustling with good-looking diners from all over town. They travel to this tiny restaurant to sample the latest French flavors from the team behind Plouf, downtown's popular spot for big bowls of steaming mussels. Chez Papa has mussels too, by way of a saffron-and-curry soup beautifully presented with the dark blue shells of the bivalve rising up from the ochre-colored broth. Try out any of the small plates, from the mouthwatering artichoke salad drizzled with olive oil and studded with capers and lemon zest to the charcuterie plate loaded up with cornichons, spicy Dijon mustard and a pile of cured meat. If the tables begins to feel too tightly packed and the noise starts to prohibit casual conversation, just gaze out the two huge corner windows and dig into a dish of Gallic charm.
