Saffron is a small restaurant noted for its chicken and its owner, Su-Mei Yu, an active leader in the community. Located among the India street restaurant district, it is primarily carry-out but also has a few outdoor tables.
For good, no-nonsense Asian-style chicken and noodles, stop into one of the adjacent duo of Saffron Chicken and Saffron Noodles & Sate. Don't be confused---there are actually two walk-ups but you can order off the sibling's menu and vice versa. Owner Su-Mei Yu is a local food celeb. The menus focus on the foods of Thailand but meander into Korea, India and Vietnam too. The spicy drunken noodles with chicken is the house specialty, but the very fresh rolls with tofu and pumpkin-chicken curry are solid choices as well.
