La Frite Belgian Bistro Description:
La Frite's décor was assembled à la marché aux puces in its first incarnation, and new owners have yet to seriously modify the casual vibe. The cuisine is a patchwork, too, though on the order of a vintage quilt. Moules, for many, the mainstay of the menu, are available three ways: tomato, curried and marinières, and though listed as an appetizer, a plate of these mollusks with a bucket of the eponymous frites makes for a delightful dinner. Salads of endive and of pear may be contemplated before or after upscale entrées such as salmon Dijon and lobster Franco. Belgian waffles (we suppose they were required) are always available, as is an impressive list of Trappist and other thematic beers. An adjacent wine bar touts a modest list by the glass and bottle.
