Tony's Description:
Tony's has navigated the course between keeping the old-timers happy and luring in a new generation of business execs and soon-to-be-engaged couples. The Bommarito dynasty continues to provide the most attentive service in town, but the menu is less "nonna's" Italian than it used to be. Moreover, the dress code has relaxed a bit (though jackets are still required). The décor is elegant and austere, with neutral walls and statues here and there in the larger dining room. Concentrate instead on the company and the food. The signature lobster albanello---chunks of shellfish in a creamy sauce with mushrooms---is decadently good, but so are the steaks, osso buco, rack of lamb and veal trio. There's also a chef's tasting menu for two worth mentioning for its beef tenderloin with foie gras. If none of that matches your mood, order something not on the menu, and no one will bat an eye. The wine list is enviably long and broad---and it's quite reasonably priced for the setting.
