O'Connell's Pub Description:
O'Connell's standout burgers are nice and thick and dripping with juice and toppings. But what really makes O'Connell's fun is its utter lack of pretension. Settle in for a wait as your food is cooked to order, and don't expect coddling from the busy staff. There'll be time to admire the wood paneling, photos of Irish authors and brass chandeliers (souvenirs from the 1904 World's Fair, they were brought from the pub's original location in a now-defunct strip known as Gaslight Square). Everyone goes to O'Connell's---white collars and softball players, families with kids and even restaurateurs after they close their own places. Bartenders are first-class, especially when there's an offbeat conversation at play. And while the burgers get all the glory, the Reuben, roast beef sandwiches and fish 'n' chips (Fridays only) all have contingents of loyal fans.
