Biggie's Description:
A real South St. Louis classic, Biggie's is an expanded tavern complete with vintage bar and side-street entrance, serving steaks, sandwiches, pub grub and pasta to an appreciative crowd of locals. Both the dining rooms and the bar are plastered with photos, mostly of sports teams, but with some pencil drawings of Joan Crawford-era movie stars and at least one opera poster. TVs are a given, as are the usual deep-fried appetizers. But it's the successor to a now-gone South Side Italian called Marc's. So here come meatball sandwiches with a tangy tomato sauce, a veal Parmesan sandwich and a killer farfalle with chicken livers, reeking happily of garlic. Not surprisingly, the dress and attitude are molto casual.
