The Hill, long an Italian-only neighborhood, is expanding its menus around the Mediterranean Sea. A friendly corner spot, Anthonino's blends Italian and Greek, with highlights that include topnotch gyros and caponata with large chunks of eggplant and peppers and a spicy dressing. The Sicilian background shows with the addition of pine nuts and raisins, traces of the Moorish influence of past millennia. There are even forays farther east with offerings of baba ghanouj and hummus. Pasta and pizza also score high. It's an old tavern, with big front windows, dashingly modern light fixtures and a crowd that mixes casual business lunches with guys from the neighborhood catching up on last night's Cardinals game.
