The Swallow at the Hollow Description:
Within the confines of an authentic, tin-roofed north Georgia residence brought down from the mountains, Paul and Doreen Doster dish up tasty Southern fare: barbecue (both chopped and ribs), good macaroni and cheese made with Parmesan, house-made grilled sausages, house-smoked turkey and coleslaw that's among the city's best. The biscuits are impressive, and the pickles are homemade. If you can eat a whole portion of banana pudding (it's the only dessert), more power to you. For vegetarians, there's a sandwich with pot-cooked portobello, smoked Gouda and fried green tomatoes. Popular songwriters from Blue Bird Café in Nashville (cover is $12) present original work Fridays and Saturdays, and a house band performs Wednesday and Sunday nights.
