Mittie's Tea Room Description:
Local historic figure Martha Bullock, known as Mittie, grew up in nearby Bulloch Hall, and was the mother of President Theodore Roosevelt. She would approve of the food and atmosphere at this contemporary tea room. While high tea can be arranged, patrons also may drop in for lovely breakfasts and lunches. Extra care goes into the preparation of dishes, and heart-healthy choices are marked with a heart. We especially love the tea-cured salmon resting on sliced Granny Smith apples, cucumbers and crumpets. For low-carb folks, a side salad is the perfect companion. Desserts are made off-shore, but they're most worthy, if the chantilly cream strawberry layer cake is any clue. Good coffees as well as teas include very good decaf.
