Farm Artisan Foods Description:
The restaurant has moved to a new beautiful location on historic State Street, just a block from the old location. Serves locally-procured artisan foods. Offers a menu of "bocconcini" which are smaller portions of a variety of dishes that work well for sharing and sampling. The chef will prepare a tasting menu for the table.
After winning over the Inland Empire with his fresh seasonal fare, Italian-born chef-owner Roberto Argentina has moved his restaurant from its original basement location to a more stylish environment around the corner in downtown Redlands. A delightful Inland discovery, Farm serves produce that Argentina grows himself and meats from Niman Ranch. Dishes here are prepared with very little fuss but the results are generally satisfying. Starters include a charcuterie plate, butternut squash soup, roasted quail over mashed garbanzo beans, pork belly with cannellini beans and quince. Among entrées, you can find tender, flavorful short ribs served with truffled risotto, and duck confit. The predominantly California wine list is short but well conceived, prices are extremely reasonable, and the staff often offers complimentary tastings, a very agreeable practice. Desserts include caramel pudding layered with chocolate mousse and seasonal cobblers. A plate of farmhouse cheeses, mostly from California, is a good way to finish off a bottle of wine. Argentina has really hit his stride and regularly offers wine dinners, vegan dinners and exciting tasting menus that elevate the state of cuisine in the IE.
