The Historic General Warren Inne Description:
Step back in time at the General Warren Inne, home to classic and modern American fare in a historic setting dating back to 1745. Owned by William Penn's grandson, John, during the American Revolution, the inn was a popular stage stop on the road between Philadelphia and Lancaster. Still a respite for weary and hungry travelers, the inn puts the emphasis on American classics such as steak, chops, osso buco and even a classic beef Wellington. Tableside presentation is a specialty with dishes such as Dover sole, Châteaubriand for two, steak au poivre and a terrific Caesar salad. Start with traditional appetizers, including snapper soup, shrimp cocktail and grilled eggplant-and-roasted pepper terrine. Tasty vegetarian options are a plus.
