Au Gourmand Description:
Extremely successful meeting place facing the Senate, Christophe Courgeau, a former executive at France Télécom, works behind the ovens, and Hervé du Libouton in the dining room, have funded an old Italian trattoria in the 1st arrondissement. Certainly, the antiquated rococo setting is not in the best taste, but the décor suffices for the most part and welcomes many amateurs to first order bourgeoisie cuisine, at republican prices (€28 to €36). The roast pig's foot accompanied with vegetables, free-range pigeon with bite-size potatoes and gourmet peas, fresh almonds and chorizo with a salmi sauce, and French toast-style brioche with amarena cherries bewitch, all like the service.
