La Table du Périgord Description:
Just steps from the chic boutiques of top Parisian designers---marked by a quaint sign featuring the image of a goose---is this cozy country hideaway of Claíre and Jean-François le Guillou. With its rough plaster, timbered ceiling and small candlelit tables, this bistro evokes the flavor of the gastronomically-blessed region of the Périgord, noted for its foie gras and truffles. Excellent, buttery foie gras is featured in abundance, including a sampler plate offering three preparations. Other respectable choices include duck confit, pork tenderloin in a whole grain mustard sauce and cassoulet. Dinner, even including some decent Périgordian wine, is a good value at this delightful restaurant in the shadows of St-Sulpice.
