The colorfully stained cement floor and partially glazed exposed brick wall are reminiscent of rustic Italy. Against a background of Italian pop music, Corrado Vannini, the Florentine owner-chef, greets everyone as though they are a returning friend. Start with the fritto misto, an array of deep-fried calamari and vegetables with lemon and spicy aïoli. The Caesar salad is swathed in a creamy, lemon-spiked, Parmesan-rich dressing best suited for those who lack affection for anchovy and garlic. The light, house-made potato gnocchi in creamy Gorgonzola sauce is luscious, as is the chicken piccata.
