If you're looking for a comforting, no-surprises kind of meal that the whole family will enjoy, look no further than Romano's Macaroni Grill. The kids can color on the paper-topped linens, mom and dad can sip on the house Chianti and everyone can enjoy a fresh selection of Italian faves. Portions are plentiful, which means plates can be shared and passed with ease. Salads, brick-oven pizzas, fish and chicken are all presented with flavorful---even trendy---preparations, but the pasta is the real focus here. Chicken cannelloni, lobster ravioli and sausage Salentino---Italian sausage, orecchiette, broccoflower, garlic and roasted tomatoes---are among the favorites. A nod toward healthy eating, whole-wheat pasta is available upon request. Glasses of house wine are served on the honor system, but trade quantity for quality and choose something from the list instead.
