Liuzza's Restaurant and Bar Description:
Sales of the po' boy sandwiches bulging with fried oysters or shrimp are brisk here, along with the icy, frozen mugs of draft beer, pasta laden with artichoke hearts and pepperoni, and Theresa Liuzza's bread pudding. Past the front bar lies the main dining room, where neighborhood types cluster at Formica-topped tables, chowing-down on a wide range of casual New Orleans neighborhood grub. The menu ranges from stuffed artichokes to fried green tomatoes with shrimp rémoulade and also features the "Frenchuletta," a rough-made, gigantic-portioned muffuletta on French bread. Both the bar and dining room have the typical time-worn look of New Orleans' old neighborhood watering holes, defined by practical tile floors, calendar-quality art and functional, dark-wood chairs and fixtures.
