Crescent City Brewhouse Description:
New Orleans' favorite restaurant and microbrewery! Our Bavarian Brewmaster prepares four fresh-brewed beers in state-of-the-art brewing equipment you can see behind our bar. A golden Pilsener, a rich Red Stallion and a deep Black Forest are always on tap, along with a monthly specialty brew. We feature traditional and innovative cuisine designed to be served with our hand-crafted lagers. When you're in The Big Easy come see us at the Crescent City Brewhouse!
The rather ambitious menu is somewhat unexpected in this French Quarter brewpub. Local preferences for robust flavors rule, enabling such dishes as red fish St. Louis, grilled tuna with lemon beurre blanc and jumbo shrimp stuffed with lump crab meat and jalapeños. Bavarian-born brewmaster Wolf Koehler's vats take up a good part of the two floors; he produces at least four beers on a given day, including a fine pilsner and a semi-sweet weissbeer that's perfect for the tropical climate. Given the sudsy focus of operations at this big, brassy French Quarter brewpub, it's no surprise that Gulf shrimp are steeped in beer. Insider's tip: Try Koehler's German sausage platter with sauerkraut and potatoes, and wash it down with a full-bodied dark Black Forest beer---or two. The owner has a penchant for local art and features rotating exhibits throughout the structure.
