Café Napoli Description:
Lots of windows and glittering fairy lights outside mark this Clayton establishment, a solid favorite of local power brokers. The noise level shoots up on busy nights with the full-house sound of a huge party. Make no decisions until the waiter arrives to discuss the specials, some visible on a tray. If it's available, head immediately for the cioppino, full of fresh flavor and a little "pop"; you'll linger over each spoonful, dining at a real Neapolitan pace. Another good option is veal, with at least four preparations from which to choose, and the pastas or seafood. The wine list leans toward the Italian, naturally, and it has length and depth. Amazingly, despite all the clout seated in the L-shaped room, the staff avoids the air of superiority that such rarefied clients sometime seem to cause. There's bar space and music---and a nice, long martini list---in a separate room next door, but the music sometimes drifts outside to tables on the sidewalk.
