Tiramesu Description:
Mobbed Lincoln Road bears more than its share of trendy pasta places, but this one is more enjoyable than most. It wins for making not only many pastas, but its fresh bread, in-house; for reasonable prices (which, during 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. early bird hours, are rock-bottom on several pastas); for big portions; and, most of all, for zealous service, with a cadre of besieged, espresso-pounding Italian waiters racing to keep up with the masses that South Beach's hotel concierges pile on them every night. Among the best dishes are fragile gnocchi and great big bowls of homemade crab meat-filled spinach ravioli or linguine carbonara. Skip salads, as they are overpriced and undistinguished. Luck into a table outside on the road, in the shade of a giant tree. The namesake dessert from Italy's Veneto region is as authentic as its spelling here, but it's not the most memorable thing about this place. The service is.
