Cafe Prima Pasta Description:
Café Prima Pasta is covered wall-to-wall with composites of timeless stars and big shots, plus a few local celebrities. Overdressed salads, plus pastas sauced with similar Italian-Argentine abundance (rather than traditional Italian restraint), are the norm. But young couples and families line up for them. Fresh bread dipped in raw garlic-infused olive oil initiates every meal. Prima Pasta also offers chicken and fish dishes, but the veal specialties (like a piccata with white wine-lemon sauce, or a paillard giardino-style, topped with chopped salad) are the tastiest, and best value, entrée choices. Though nice Italian reds by the glass are a good deal, prices in general are not the comparative bargain they once were; additionally, there are now (as opposed to 1994, when Prima Pasta opened) numerous Italian eateries with more authentically Italian food.
